After releasing their a debut single “Hell or High Water" late last year, QARINAH is back and announcing their new EP entitled “Transcendent” slated for a September 13th, 2024 release. The EP includes their first single as well as “Impermanence," “Not For Sale,” and “Alchemy.” The EP was produced by Waldemar Sorychta (Despair, Grip Inc.) and Miss Randall (Rusty Eye) in collaboration with German mixing/mastering engineer Dennis Koehne (Sodom, Lacuna Coil, Tristania), Finnish recording/second engineer Jan Rechberger at Moon Unit (Amorphis, The Eternal drummer), and Los Angeles recording engineer Yury Anysonyan at Box Studio (Spineshank, The Love Project). The metal duo is Portland, Oregon-based Miss Randall and Bochum, Germany-based Waldemar Sorychta. QARINAH’s story is surrounded by mystical elements paying homage to Waldemar’s productions with Samael, Therion, and Tiamat; the name being a childbed demon story of Middle Eastern tradition.
Miss Randall is an established composer and singing lady drummer formerly in the LA and CDMX metal scene with former band Rusty Eye and Sergio Arau & Los Heavy Mex. Now a solo artist, Miss Randall has been releasing solo singles, including a Corrosion of Conformity cover “Albatross,” the NWOBHM-style anthem “Pagan Burial,” a Rock EP entitled “Desertations, Vol.1” with the classic rock hit “Heaven Doesn't Want Me.” She intends to release more singles in the Fall of 2024. Waldemar is known as the guitarist/composer in Grip Inc. (with former bandmate Dave Lombardo) and as core participant in many band projects including Voodoocult, Despair, Enemy of the Sun, and Mandrah. He's also a working touring guitarist with bands such as Overkill, Exhorder, and Therion. Most importantly, his career also spans music production, and he holds 3 gold records and more than 150 credits, forging the early career of established European bands such as Lacuna Coil, The Gathering, Sentenced, Tristania, Moonspell, Sodom, and more.
